It's not surprising Rocket had a farm. Or at the very least, it's not weird they have somewhere to stage most of their breeding programs. Wanting to keep their busy away form local daycares, they often sent pokemon down here to some fence off plot of land owned by some shadow corp. He'd spent most of his time working here before expanding to bigger and better things under chu-e's mentorship. Couldn't be a breeder forever when you wanted to do intel instead. At least, he thought he'd do better at intel. His boss has thought so at least. [break][break]

The crystal blooms are dangerous, taking up a huge chunk of the roaming pastures the breeder set up had. What's even worse is the attracted wild pokemon were...somewhat aggressive, and Rocket couldn't risk loosing valuable time, and eggs to a random supernatural slash otherworldly menace. Collect the blooms for Lulu Flint and Raphael Pryde , repel a thread if any, and see if you can flash burn some of them. Rocket wasn't taking any chances. Control burn it all down. [break][break]

"You feeling ok?" Mint asked, smiling despite knit together eyebrows. He was still worried. Jayden and his reunion had been...frantic. Mint had thrown away all the towels and sheets that they'd gotten blood on. He wished Jayden had stayed resting but he supposed it was better the guy did something boring with him, than off who knows where getting stabbed AGAIN. As they walked, a small Riolu sprung forward, ruushing past her temporary trainer despite his occasional protest. She didn't listen to him, exploring on her own and occasionally turning to stick her tongue out at Mint.

he was no breeder. despite his fondness for pokemon, he had still been raised under kanto's tuteluge as harsh as it could sometimes be, and knew that pokemon were meant to be tools for the success of the organization that held them down like an iron fist.

[break][break] it was why he appreciated the company of one such mint frost , who at least had enough innocence left in him to not realize any better.

[break][break] "i told you, i'm fine." he brushes the other off without even thinking twice about it, used to disregarding the concerns of others too much in his life. in all honestly, jayden really was fine — it had been an inconvenience, but nothing like the poison that had set him into a coma all those months ago. a quick glance at the mint-haired youth however had him changing his mind. "mint, i promise. i've dealt with worse." a flash of a smile, a hand on his shoulder.

[break][break] he follows the riolu and walks towards the crystallized flower that have taken purchase atop rocket soil. no matter how many times he sees it, he can't help but be curious for them. he's not much of a gardener either, but he still can't help but be curious.

Jayden's assurance is uncomfortable but they'd down their best together. Mint still cared if it left a scar though, even if his friend didn't. Still, he can't help but smile back at his friend. "Ok...this is supposed be a sort of relaxing mission though...so sit out stuff if you want..." he added sticking his tongue out at the Rocket before looking back at the work they had cut out for them. [break][break]

Armed with nothing but gardening gloves, a box full of little plastic bottles and boxes for samples, and a small hand shovel, the ex-breeder nodded. "Yeah. A shame we're torching 'em. But they picked the wrong place to grow in." he said before posting over to the side at a nearby fence that had been crushed asunder. "Pokemon, really big ones, have been gathering on them and its...weird. They said they're not sure if gthey're eating them...or staring at them...rolling in them like catnip?" Mint shrugged.

All wounds left scars, even if you couldn't see them. Briefly, he thinks of Chu-e Choi and Raziel Pryde (Raziel Beckett ), though the damage caused by both had been different in their severity.

[break][break] Where as the other seems to be well-prepared — Jayden's gaze roves over the other's gardening gloves and supplies — Jayden has come empty-handed. Well, seemingly anyway. He is nothing if not always prepared.

[break][break] His Psyduck materializes into view, crystallizing the flowers with ICE BEAM. It makes it safe to pick-up, and Jayden begins to pack each away in the containers that they've prepared.

Mint held back a sigh. Perhaps more extreme measures were required. Another mandatory night of Netflix and chill was in order. He couldn't get stabbed or overwork himself if he couldn't move. Not that....not that Jayden couldn't probably pick up mint as easily as a pillow. But the attempt was there. And even if they didn't agree it was straight forward enough right? Then again...Jayden could be dense. [break][break]

"Oh- OH? Ok, didn't think of that actually." he said surprised by the maneuver but excited to finish the work faster. "If this goes that quickly we can eat at this café nearby~ They have awesome lemonade." he suggested as he began to pull out the containers for Jayden to fill. He then grabbed a permanent marker and began annotating info on the jars. Location, time, amount. Over and over again as they did work. [break][break]

Canoli barked sniffing the pastures like crazy. There was so much to look at and identify being that this place was used to breed all sorts of things. He eventually sauntered up to the broken fence, ignoring a small rustling in the bushes.

[break][break] he hums in thought, taking care to make sure not to break the mini sculptures as they place them away. "i'm not sure if i've ever had any before." most of the time, jayden takes to simple food groups and beverages. of course, he still has his father's collection of foreign teas, coffees and wine tucked away in a wardrobe in case there is company.

[break][break] even when he went to get burgers with Tempest Quinn several months ago, he had ordered water and not soda.

Mint flinched, holding back form yelling something in Jayden's face at the revelation. He still smiled, but his eyebrows knit in sympathy and he looked away before Jayden could try to pinpoint something was amiss. "Then, let's go! It's really good. The perfect mix between sweet and sour. Though...my favorite flavor combo is sweet and a smidge of salty." he said excitedly. He'd buy the poor guy a lemonade, damn. "It's really easy to make at home too. I'll make some with you next time I'm over." [break][break]

He hadn't been to his house though... He crouched next to Jayden, watching him twirl a small bloom in hand. "I think they're really pretty...especially at night. They glow like little rainbow stars." he said as he held out a jar for Jayden. "They're unfamiliar to me though. Never seen these before and...well...they're kinda an overnight phenomenon. The League has been scrambling just as much as we have over them because they're spreading so much." he explained wit ha shrug. [break][break]

The rustling near the shrubs grew more intense as Canoli approached. He let out a couple of barks that seemed to startle a couple of Bunnelbys into the opposite direction. Served 'em right.

luckily for mint frost, jayden is not good at noticing the subtleties in others expressions. he has no idea the crime that he unwittingly committed on his friend's psyche.

[break][break] he wasn't going to let his friend pay, not after mint frost had established the fact that they were - indeed - friends.

[break][break] at the mention of something sweet and salty, jayden feels a pang of something familiar. he recalls a moment on the beach with Chu-e Choi, long after he'd been possessed by the necrozma. a cool summer breeze, and a melting caramel sundae.

[break][break] curiosity flickers in his gaze as he looks at the other. "i haven't seen them in the night before. like stars, you say?" he hums in thought — he remembers the blanket of starry sky that he witnessed with @raine.

[break][break] he pauses, eyes narrowed. "the league? how do you know that, mint?" his tone pitches lower — not quite dangerous, yet. but borderline.

Mint typically wasn't one to argue the payment of a meal to another. He wasn't going to politely insist to pay. He was above that. If life gives you lemons and whatever. So when Jayden asserted that he wanted to, he wasn't going to argue. "Mmm....ok~! I can buy next time." he said, grinning before looking back to his work. [break][break]

He pulled out a couple of boxes, having accidentally snapped some petals off and a few leaves. Carefully, he picked them up and began sorting them into sample boxes for later before reaching out for another bloom. He nodded. "I saw them with another friend of mine, Felix Gallagher . We were assigned to My. Chimney and by the time we got there it was night out and the blooms were glowing..." he trailed off before looking over at Jayden. [break][break]

Unlike his friend. Mint was well versed in slight changes of tone or mood. Maybe it was a survival skill, or perhaps remnants of the complex upperclass subculture he'd grown up in. Regardless, pale green eyes are on Jayden, more curious than anything else. He's unsure why the shift, but he blinked slowly with those wide eyes of his before smiling again. "Near Lilycove, the ranger corps has organized quarantines around the beach and near one of the nearby forests." he began before snapping another bloom. "If you want, you can come out and see one of the patches in bloom before they decided to torch 'em."

Felix Gallagher? the name sounds familiar.

[break][break] jayden nods as mint explains the phenomena of the flora at night time. it sounds indeed like a spectacle, one that jayden could've only hoped that he would be able to witniss. "did you take any pictures?" he inquires curiously, remembering how gavin had taken them at the tree of life.

[break][break] it's probably a good show of character — or maybe their relationship — that mint seems unphased by his pitch in tone. good, jayden prefers it that way. even more, he appreciates the answer that is given to him.

[break][break] his shoulders relax. (strange, he hadn't noticed they'd been tense in the first place.)

[break][break] "maybe one day," he agrees, finishing off closing the last box of specimens for safekeeping.

[break][break] pushing his hands against the tops of his thighs, jayden stands up and offers a hand to his friend as well. "looks like we are done for now. what did you say? there was lemonade somewhere?"
